Roof
Installing a quality roof on a home is one of the most important decisions a homeowner can make. Cutting corners with a cheaper roof may save money in the short-term, but in the long-run it can cost the homeowner large amounts of money and headaches. Though most roofs have to be replaced once every ten years or so, carefully choosing your roof can definitely reduce the cost of replacement. There are many different types of roofing options available.
Shingles & Shakes Usually made of wood, these are nice-looking and fairly affordable. They pose a fire hazard, however.
Roof Tiles Very long lifespan & it won't rot or burn. Slightly fragile though, & very heavy. Costly as well.
Slate Offers an attractive, natural stone look. Can be arranged in many different patterns. Breakable, though, & heavy
Concrete Long lifespan & it can be manufactured to mimic other types of materials. Expensive, but very durable & fireproof.
Metal Roofing Durable, fire retardant & almost maintenance-free. Very energy-efficient as well.
