All our UPV-C Casement Windows are purchased from quality Window Manufacturers who use a 60mm Selecta Profile System.
PROFILE: The Selecta 8000 outward casement window is fabricated from UPVC-U profile, extruded "in house" on the latest - up to date extrusion machines.
PROFILE PROPERTIES: Profiles are of a multi-chambered construction with a 2.8mm wall thickness. The PVC-U material from which the profiles are extruded complies with the requirements contained in BS7413.
JOINTING METHODS: Selecta 8000 casement windows incorporate transoms and mullions which are connected to the outer frame, and where relevant by means of mechanical or welded joints. Mechanical Joints: These joints have the ends shaped using a milling machine for precise location on the profile they are to be connected to. Mechanical casement windows are glazed externally. Welded Joints: These joints are shaped in a 'V' form to be welded into the profile they are to be connected to. Welded casement windows are glazed internally.
DRAINAGE: To assist ventilation of the glazing chamber and aid the escape of any water drainage holes are routed into the frames.
REINFORCEMENT: To maintain quality and durability, all windows are reinforced with steel or aluminium reinforcing. Steel Reinforcement is roll formed from materials to BS2989 Specifications for continuously hot dip zinc coated iron zinc alloy coated steel, wide strip, sheet/plate and slit wide strip, with a G275 coating. Aluminium Alloy Reinforcing is extruded from alloy 6063 - T6 to B.S. 1474, Wrought Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys for General Engineering Purposes. Reinforcing is required in casement windows to prevent excessive deflection due to wind loads or glass weight, to assist in keeping the glass straight, to enhance security and to help control the deformation of profiles during temperature variations.
VENTILATION: To comply with various building regulations a suitably sized trickle ventilator may be fitted in to frame members.
GLAZING: All windows manufactured are compliant to the 'Document L' standards.
